A Full August, in the Best Way

Some months seem to disappear before you've really had a chance to notice them. August wasn't one of those months.

It was full. Full of people, travel, new beginnings, meaningful work and more than a few moments that made me stop and appreciate just how much has changed since I began building my real estate business here in Charlotte.

Celebrating Charlotte Pride

One of the highlights was spending the weekend at Charlotte Pride.

I had my own booth this year, which meant a couple of very full days of seeing familiar faces, meeting new people, handing out plenty of swag and, unsurprisingly, giving out a lot of hugs.

But what I loved most wasn't having a booth. It was simply being there.

Charlotte has become home for me, and being able to show up for a community that means so much to me felt incredibly special. Real estate may be what I do professionally, but I've always believed that being part of a community means actually participating in it, supporting it and helping create the kind of place where people feel welcome and connected.

Pride was a pretty wonderful reminder of that.

From Charlotte to San Antonio

August also took me to San Antonio, Texas, for Keller Williams' Mega Agent Camp, an annual gathering that brings agents from across the country together to learn, share ideas and become better at what we do.

But some of the most meaningful moments of the trip actually happened before Mega Agent Camp officially began.

Each year, members of the KW Rainbow Network gather for our own two-day mastermind called Rainbow Camp. This year was particularly special for me because I served on the education committee, helping support and plan the event.

One of the things I was most excited about was helping bring San Antonio City Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez to speak with our community.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a leader in San Antonio, Jalen has inspired so many through his public service and leadership. It was an honor to welcome him to Rainbow Camp and hear from someone doing such meaningful work in his own community.

Learn more about Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and be sure to follow him on Instagram.

The trip also gave me the chance to spend time with another community that's become an important part of my business: KW Luxury Pro.

At KW Luxury Pro Luncheon

I joined members of the Luxury Pro community for a luncheon during the conference and getting to sit around the table with some of the top agents in our company was incredible. There is tremendous value in being able to exchange ideas, talk honestly about what's working in our businesses and learn from people serving clients and markets across the country.

Those relationships also have a very practical benefit for my clients here in Charlotte. Real estate doesn't stop at the city limits, and having trusted relationships with exceptional agents around the country gives me a much broader network to draw upon when a client is relocating, looking for an agent elsewhere or marketing a special property beyond our local market.

I came home from San Antonio energized, grateful and with plenty of ideas.

A New Home for ItsAWinnWinn.com

August also marked the launch of my completely redesigned website, ItsAWinnWinn.com.

I've wanted to rethink the site for a while because I wanted it to feel less like a generic real estate website and more like the experience I want people to have when they work with me.

Buying or selling a home is obviously about real estate, but it's rarely just about real estate.

It's about neighborhoods. Architecture. Restaurants. The coffee shop you walk to on Saturday morning. Where your friends live. Where your kids might grow up. How a house feels when you walk through the door. And, ultimately, the life you're hoping to create there.

I wanted the new website to leave room for all of that.

It's also becoming a place where I can share more of the things I love outside of listings, from Charlotte neighborhoods and local businesses to architecture, travel and the experiences that continually shape the way I think about home.

If you haven't explored it yet, take a look around the new ItsAWinnWinn.com. And if you have thoughts about it, I'd genuinely love to hear them.

A Very Special Home in Eastover

August also brought an opportunity I'm especially grateful for: representing the owners of 1620 Biltmore Drive, a beautiful home in Charlotte's Eastover area.

There are some homes that immediately remind you why architecture and place matter so much.

This is one of them.

But as proud as I am to represent a home like this, the part that matters most to me is the trust behind the listing.

Every home represents something personal to the people who own it. There are memories attached to it, decisions that went into it and a next chapter on the other side of the sale. Being invited into that process is something I don't take lightly, regardless of the price point.

I'm incredibly grateful to these clients for trusting me to help guide and represent them through that transition.

And yes, the house itself is pretty spectacular.

Heading Into September

Looking back, August wasn't memorable simply because it was busy.

It was memorable because so many different parts of my life and work came together in one month.

I got to celebrate my community here at home. I helped create a space for LGBTQ+ real estate professionals from across the country to learn and connect. I spent time with people who challenged me to think bigger and become better at what I do. I launched something new. And I was entrusted with representing a very special Charlotte home.

Community. Growth. Relationships. Home.

Those are the things that made August meaningful, and they're a pretty wonderful way to head into September.

And since you've now heard what's been happening in my world, I'd love to hear about yours.

What are you looking forward to this September?

Send me a note and tell me. Whether it's something big, something small or simply the promise of cooler Charlotte evenings, I'm always happy to hear what's happening in your corner of the world.

See you around Charlotte!
